WORKSHOPS to match STRiVE from the CMTO

All of my workshops comply with the new rules for Continuing Education in Ontario under STRiVE.  If you are selecting your learning goals please consider these learning activities.

In light of Covid-19, my destination workshops are currently on hold and I have been creating self-directed online versions for some of my classes.  This is a fancy way of saying you can take these classes at any time of the day or night, and at your own speed.

Assessment Review

The most popular course I teach!
Not sure what's causing your client's pain? This course is offered either as separate Upper Body (1 day) and Lower Body (1 day) courses or as a combo 2-day hands-on course will refresh your skills and answer nagging questions that get in the way of effecient treatment planning. Many tests can be performed on the table during treatment for those times your client tells you about a problem at the last minute.

Improve your treatment outcomes (and client retention rate) by being confident about your client's condition. Learn how to differentiate between muscle and joint pain. Review muscle and special tests.

Small groups of participants per workshop means lots of individual attention. Includes extensive notes for future review when you're back at work.

Fast and efficient review of assessment theory, ankle, knee, shoulder and neck.

Hip Stretch & Mobe

My newest course
All about the hip, Sacro-iliac, knee and anle joints and the muscles that cross them. Small group learning with lots and lots of incredibly practical information.

Learn how to zero in quickly on the best results for the common presentations that we see in massage therapy. Quick results that will leave your clients happy and you feeling successful.

Great for releasing hamstring and hip flexor tension with indirect stretching as well as fast assessment and treatment of the Sacro-iliac joints.

Hip Stretch and Mobe: (3 hours) $149

Thoracic Stretch & Mobe

TSM

Think of this as sidelying taken to a new level. Your clients will begin asking you to do this work in every treatment. Easy to master and yet powerful results to straighten out thoracic posture.

Fast and immediate improvements for clients with sub-acromial compressions, thoracic outlet syndrome, computer user posture, frozen shoulder and head-forward postural issues.

Small groups of participants per workshop means lots of individual attention. Includes extensive notes for future review when you're back at work.

This course is almost entirely hands-on. Don't be fooled by the short time frame. You'll be amazed at how much impact these three hours will have on your practice and your client's outcomes. 2 CEUs (category A, CMTO)

Thoracic Stretch and Mobe: (3 hours) $149

Gilbert Method

An exciting new course presented by Ashley Gilbert, RMT
This treatment approach, pioneered by Toronto RMT Ashley Gilbert has been a decade in development and I am thrilled to be able to offer it.

Multiple treatment outcomes are possible, but the greatest benefit for these techniques is in the treatment of stubborn musculoskeletal problems.

Small groups of participants per workshop means lots of individual attention. Includes extensive notes for future review when you're back at work.

Assess and treat upper body dysfunction with scapula, shoulder and neck with neuromuscular Swedish techniques to affect nerve synapses of the erector spinae muscles.

The Gilbert Method uses Swedish technique to calm the nervous system at specific, key places in the body allowing for a much faster relaxation of soft tissue

NOW you can add the Lower body course for S-I, hip and knee dysfunctions. Please Note: You must take Upper Body before proceeding to the Lower Body course.

(Full disclosure: Ashley fixed my knee with his techniques and got me running again, so I knew I had to offer his techniques in a workshop.)

AODA

Accessibility for Ontarians with Diabilities Act There's been a lot of discussion recently about AODA and how it applies to RMTs, so I've prepared a 4-page document outlining the basic info you need to know. Read the document, record the time, divide by two and hey presto you've got some free CEUs (you're welcome!). Click here for the doc.  FingerPrint.v48.STRiVE.pdf
